The UTM series is a compact and lightweight rotary torque meter.
The latest UTMIII can be custom-ordered for both low-speed and high-speed rotation tests.
It is ideal for the following applications.
In motor testing, the rotational pulse is set to 60 ppr in order to more accurately measure rotational speed and evaluate motor characteristics.
It is also ideal for measuring cogging torque and torque ripple at low speed.
With the "Centering Location Type" option, the axis of torque meter can be easily aligned, vibration can be suppressed and the rotation speed can be accurately measured.
It is ideal for evaluating engine performance, detecting scuffing, poor compression due to ring wear, and poor condition of friction parts.
The UTM series offers outstanding zero point stability and extremely low initial torque. (0.00001Nm in case of UTMⅡ-0.05Nm)
Therefore, torque at low rotation speed can be measured with high accuracy.
During high-speed rotation, torque measurement can be affected by centrifugal force as well as radial and thrust loads due to misalignment.
UTMIII can reduce the influence of these external factors on the effective accuracy of torque and can measure torque at high rotation speed with high accuracy.

The UTM series has achieved an accuracy of 0.03% FS, max. rotation speed of 40,000 rpm, and safe overload of 500%.
Sold over 30,000 units worldwide!
The UTM series has become the standard for rotary torque meters.
In addition to the option "pulse output for rotation detection of 60 ppr", there are also drip & rust proof type, square drive type, and key groove type available.
